Senior care facilities still facing ‘business nightmare’ after COVID-19
Like many in the healthcare field, workers in elder care facilities left the industry in droves. A September 2021 Morning Consult poll found that 1 in 5 healthcare workers quit amid COVID-19. Another poll from Incredible Health shows 34% of nurses plan to leave by the end of 2022.
Public sentiment often pushes the pandemic into the rearview mirror, so why are workers still looking to leave their jobs? Healthcare was hard work before the onslaught of COVID cases. Although vaccines and innovative therapeutics are most of the current muscle in the fight, the ripple effects of the virus are making waves more than two years later.
