United Helpers assisted living program in Canton to close

CANTON, New York (WWNY) – Due to inadequate reimbursement, increasing costs and staffing shortages, United Helpers has decided to close its assisted living program in Canton.
Residents were told about the closure and work is underway to help them make other arrangements for care.
The facility at 205 State Street Road provides supportive 24-hour services to 34 residents.
The New York State Department of Health has approved a comprehensive closure plan.
