It’s Time to Take Action.

The Issue – Medicaid is Shortchanging Nursing Homes

Connecticut Seniors’ won’t have access to quality nursing homes unless something is done urgently. Nursing home closures are too commonplace in Connecticut causing the traumatic relocation of residents from their homes and displacing staff hundreds of staff who have worked in nursing homes for decades and love their residents.

Lawmakers in Connecticut must act NOW to assure access to quality nursing homes. We need to stop the increasing number of nursing home closures that jeopardize seniors’ access to care.

The Solution: Increasing the Medicaid Reimbursement Rate

With proper funding, nursing homes be there for Seniors when they need high quality complex care. They can offer competitive wages and benefits to help recruit and retain the most experienced and dedicated caregivers—but only if they have the resources.  A substantial increased Medicaid investment for our state’s nursing is badly-needed so that nursing homes can be there to deliver the quality care that everyone wants for their loved ones.
