To address the state’s caregiver shortage, the Arkansas Health Care Association opened a first-of-its-kind School of Nursing designed to create a career pathway from CNA to LPN, supporting upward mobility and retention in long term care.

A Brookings analysis highlights how immigration could help ease the nation’s growing caregiver shortage. With immigrants already making up a quarter of the long term care workforce, expanding pathways could strengthen staffing, improve outcomes, and support aging populations.
